1. Test on Wednesday, October 18th. Students will be given an 'unseen' informational text/essay or short story. Once read they have to do 5 selected response questions (multiple choice) and 1 or 2 constructed response.
questions (require writing up to half a page or more). Students have been advised that one of these questions will require them to make a text to text / text to self / or text to world response. Students should review items on Google Classroom and be familiar with the stories we did on the theme of 'Courage' in the Literacy 9 text. They will certainly aid in making text to text connections.
2. We are doing persuasive essays and students need to be prepared to do most of this assignment electronically both in school and at home. Students should have their topic by now and be prepared to do research when we get lab time. Due to lab demand students can expect to do some of the work at home. |
